How to Use This
Manual
This manual is divided into the following seven chapters:
Introduction, Hookups and Getting Started, Preparation,
Basic Operations, Advanced Operations, Editing, and
Additional Information.
Chapter 1
Introduction
This chapter describes the principal features of the
EV-S3000. "Identifying Parts and Controls" is useful to
overview the functions you can take advantage of when
operating the EV-S3000.
Chapter 2 Hookups and Getting
Started
This chapter describes how to connect the EV-S3000 to a
TV and/or an audio system. Connections for viewing
cable TV programs are also explained in this section.
Chapter 3
Preparation
This chapter describes how to prepare the Remote
Commander and how to set the date and time. Presetting
the Active Channels and Using the SETUP Menu are also
explained in this chapter.
Chapter 4
Basic Operations
This chapter provides information about the VCR's basic
operations such as playing back a tape, recording a TV
program and timer-activated recording. If you are already
familiar with the basic operations, see the chapter
"Advanced operations".
Chapter 5
Advanced Operations
This chapter describes various kinds of functions you can
take advantage of when operating the EV-S3000. Read
this chapter after you become familiar with the EV-S3000.
Chapter6
Editing
This chapter describes how to edit a video tape onto or
from another VCR or video camera recorder.
Chapter 7
Additional Information
This chapter includes technical information which
explains the Hi8 video system utilized in the EV-S3000
and its compatibility with existing video recorder decks.
General setup information, a troubleshooting section,
specifications, and index are also explained in this
section.
If you have any problems with installing or
operating the EV-S3000, refer to the troubleshooting
section first before calling your local Sony dealer.

Unpack all the items and check to confirm that you have
everything listed below.
