1215 Threading Machine
2. Turn carriage handwheel align cutter wheel with cut-
off mark. A convenient viewing angle is provided.
3. Push control switch to the ON position, step on foot
switch and tighten the feed screw handle.
4. Turn feedscrew handle until cut-off is completed.
5. Release foot switch. Push control switch to OFF po-
sition
6. Swing cutter to up position.

Pipe Reaming with No. 323 Reamer

(See Figure 6)
1. With cutter and die head in their UP position, swing
reamer into its operating position.
2. With the control switch in the ON position, step on foot
switch and feed the carriage handwheel towards the
pipe.
3. With slight handwheel pressure feed reamer into pipe
to achieve desired ream.
4. Release foot switch, push control switch to OFF po-
sition and return the reamer to its UP position.

Threading Pipe with No. 811-A
Quick Opening Die Head or
No. 815-A Self-Opening Die Head
(See Figures 7 and 8)
1. Chuck pipe.
2. Cut and ream pipe.
3. Install proper size dies into die head. Distinct die sets

4. Set die head to proper size.
5. Push control switch to the ON position.
6. Lower die head to allow the oil to flow through the die
head and onto the dies.
NOTE! Oil flow can be adjusted with oil flow control valve
located on back of carriage (See Figure 17).
7. Step on foot switch. Feed die head towards pipe with
carriage hand wheel. Slight pressure on handwheel
will start dies.
8. Quick-Opening Die Head (Figure 7) – When thread is
completed, raise throwout lever to OPEN position,
retracting dies.
Self-Opening Die Head (Figure 8) – When die head
trigger contacts end of pipe, throwout lever is auto-
matically opened.

when proper length of thread has been cut. For

With die head trigger placed up and out of the
way, thread length can be controlled by manually
releasing throw-out lever. This is necessary for
making long BSPP and NPSM threads.
9. Release foot switch and push control switch to OFF
position.
10. Check the thread length and depth. (See Figure 11.)
NOTE! 1. Parallel threads cannot be cut with tapered dies.
2. Slight die head depth adjustment may be nec-
essary due to variations in the pipe fittings.
