Chapter 2 Installing the MQAM
Connect the 10/100BaseT Ethernet Port
Description
The MQAM shares data with the DNCS through an ATM switch, a router, an
Ethernet hub, and an Ethernet port. An Ethernet connection enables the DNCS to
perform software downloads, provision the MQAM, set up broadcast sessions,
monitor alarms, and check system performance.
Note: Connect the 10/100BaseT Ethernet port on the MQAM to an Ethernet hub as
part of an Ethernet connection. Do not connect it directly to a DNCS workstation or
another PC.
Location of 10/100BaseT Ethernet Port
The following illustration shows an example of a 10/100BaseT Ethernet connection
for the MQAM.
