6.2.3 Antenna installation

The RFW-4000 GSM/GPRS/4G is supplied with two GSM anten-
nas with cable and connector. The cable length for the supplied
antenna is 50 cm.
For GSM network access it is possible to use 1
or 2 antennas. The number of connected anten-
nas must be defined in the corresponding pro-
gramming software.

1 antenna:
The antenna mounting bracket has different
mounting bores that permit variable and univer-
sal mounting of antennas on different types of
panel housing.
Network access
If the GSM network access is via
4G (LTE) or the auto mode, 2 anten-
nas must be used. In this case, one
antenna is connected to the main
antenna connector and the second
antenna to the diversity antenna con-
nector.
If GSM network access is via only 2G
and/or 3G, it is possible to install and
use just 1 antenna in this case. The
antenna must be connected to the main
antenna connector.
