Your administrator sets up your phone and connects it to the network. If your phone is not set up and connected,
contact your administrator for instructions.
Cisco IP Phone 6841 Multiplatform Phones and Cisco IP Phone 6861 Multiplatform Phones do not support
Power over Ethernet (PoE). Connect the phone using the power adapter to power the phone.
Connect to the Network
You need to connect the phone to the telephone network.
• Wired connection—The phone is plugged into the network using an Ethernet cable.
• Wireless connection—The Cisco IP Phone 6861 Multiplatform Phones connect to a Wireless Access
Auto Provision Your Phone with Short Activation Code
After your phone boots up, you see a welcome screen where you can enter the activation code. If you don't
have the activation code, contact your administrator.

Step 1
Press pound (#), and enter your activation code in the field that is provided on the Welcome screen.
Point using Wi-Fi. You need an SSID, security settings, username, and password to connect to the wireless
