4.2.1.5 Photocell

The Photocell should be inspected per Table 4-6.
Inspection
Inspect the cable connector for bent or broken
pins.
Inspect the light aperture for dirt or
obstructions.
Inspect housing for loose screws.

4.2.1.6 Cables

All Cables should be inspected per Table 4-7.
Inspection
Inspect the cable for breaks, tears, fraying,
burrs, or other damage.
Check connectors for bent and/or broken pins,
corrosion, arcing, or other damage.

4.3 FUNCTIONAL TESTS

This section contains instructions to test the VXP system performance parameters. If a test step
fails, refer to the "Troubleshooting Guide" in Section 4.4 to locate the faulty component.
The functional tests provide a high confidence level that the instrument is operating properly and
within specifications. The functional test setups use, as much as possible, all the components
(transducers, cables, etc.) that are used in the field. This allows the user to verify the proper
operation of these components and aids in fault isolation.

4.3.1 Test Setup

Connect equipment as shown in Figure 4-1.

Remedy
Return to Chadwick-Helmuth for repair.
Clean with water or alcohol and a soft, lint-
free cloth.
Remove any loose screws and apply Loctite
before reinstalling them.
