Removing a PSU

Note for servers using CMA (Cable Management Arm)
Since the installed CMA is blocking PSUs, additional steps are required
in order to remove or replace PSUs:
Ê Unlock the CMA stopper.
Ê Remove the CMA stopper with the mounted crossbar.
Ê Support the CMA stopper, the crossbar and the CMA arm including
cables with your right hand.
Ê Remove the PSU and install a PSU dummy module into the empty
bay.
Ê Remount the complete assembly (CMA stopper, crossbar and CMA
arm) into the rail.

Preliminary steps

Ê Remove the AC power cord from its cable bracket and disconnect it from the
PSU to be removed as described in section
on page
59.

CAUTION!
In order to ensure uninterrupted operation, observe the following
instructions:
Ê Before disconnecting a PSU, ensure that sufficient power supply
is available for your system configuration with the remaining
PSU(s).
Ê Before disconnecting a power supply, ensure that the PSU in the
first or second slot is still active.
