4 Is Access Easy Controller the Correct Choice for Your
Client?
The advanced design of the Access Easy Controller requires that the customer has a specific
network configuration in place for the controller to perform properly. While the network
requirements needed to support Access Easy Controller are fairly generic, there may be
instances where the customer's network configuration will be such that the controller will not
work.
Use this checklist to evaluate if the Access Easy Controller will work in the proposed cus-
tomer's environment. If you can answer "Yes" to all questions, then the Access Easy Controller
will work in your customer's application.
If any item is answered "No", then stop immediately and proceed to the indicated paragraph
for a further discussion of that item. In this discussion, possible solutions are offered that the
customer can implement to overcome the deficiency and provide the type of network environ-
ment required by Access Easy Controller.
If you are unable to answer all items with "Yes", then Access Easy Controller will not perform
reliably for the customer, and all alternative access control solution should be considered.

network. Does the customer have a network in place?

The Access Easy Controller only communicates over an Ethernet network. Is the cus-
tomer's network an Ethernet network?

The Access Easy Controller connects to the customer's network using a standard cate-
gory-5 cable. The customer will need to provide a network termination point that can be
used for connection of the Access Easy Controller. Typically, the termination point will
be either a RJ-45 wall jack that is wired into the network, or a port on an Ethernet hub.
Can the customer provide either a wall jack or hub port for connection of the Access Easy
Controller?
