2.3 Continuous-path mode
Contour tolerance
A contour tolerance is specified using setting data:
SD42465 SMOOTH_CONTUR_TOL
This setting data defines the maximum rounding tolerance for the contour.
Orientation tolerance
An orientation tolerance is specified using setting data:
SD42466 SMOOTH_ORI_TOL
This setting data defines the maximum rounding tolerance for the tool orientation. The data
determines the maximum permissible angular deviation of the orientation of the tool. This
data is only effective if an orientation transformation is active.
Possible combinations
The table below shows the effect of axis tolerances in machine data:
MD33100 COMPRESS_POS_TOL
and the above setting data for codes G642 and G643.
MD20480 SMOOTHING_MODE must be loaded with two decimal places as follows:

Axis-specific tolerances are used for G642.
These are set using the axis-specific
machine data:
MD33100 COMPRESS_POS_TOL
(default value).
When rounding geometry axes with G642,
the contour tolerance:

is used.
The remaining axes are rounded using the
axis-specific tolerances in machine data:
MD33100 COMPRESS_POS_TOL
The orientation movement with G642 is
rounded using the angle tolerance:
SD42466 SMOOTH_ORI_TOL.
The axis-specific tolerances in machine
data:
SD42466 SMOOTH_ORI_TOL
are used for all other axes.
G643
(setting value in unit's place of
MD20480)
Axis-specific tolerances are used for G643.
These are set using the axis-specific
machine data:
MD33100 COMPRESS_POS_TOL
(default value).
When rounding geometry axes with G643,
the contour tolerance:
SD42465 SMOOTH_CONTUR_TOL
is used.
The remaining axes are rounded using the
axis-specific tolerances in machine data:
MD33100 COMPRESS_POS_TOL
The orientation movement with G463 is
rounded using the angle tolerance
SD42466 SMOOTH_ORI_TOL.
The axis-specific tolerances in machine
data:
SD42466 SMOOTH_ORI_TOL
are used for all other axes.
