5-1-4. SY-314 Board/SW-1204 Board
The microcomputer IC1019 to entirely control BRC-300/
300P and the power circuit are main component blocks of
the SY-314 board. Character generator IC1013 for menu
display, EEPROM IC1008 for backup of menu settings,
pan motor driver IC1001, and SIRCS remote-control
receivers IC1006 and IC1007 are provide as the microcom-
puter's peripheral devices.
SIRCS: Serial Infrared Remote Control System
Control System
The microcomputer IC1019 sends/receives commands and
status data to/from internal and external circuits using the
VISCA protocol. It controls the FIFO memory ICs and the
digital encoder on the CC-91 board with the IIC serial data
communication.
Selection of RS-232C or RS-422 and selection of baud rate
(9600 or 38400 bps) are set by the DIP switch S1002 on
the bottom of BRC-300/300P, and are input to the micro-
computer. These selections are also provided for BRU-
300/300P and RM-BR300. Both selections shall be the
same in all these three units.
Camera address is set by the DIP switch S1001 on the
bottom plate of BRC-300/300P, and is input to the micro-
computer.
Selection of NTSC or PAL mode is set by the signal mode
of the camera block. When the EEPROM IC1008 (Super
reset) is initialized, the signal mode of the camera block is
input into the microcomputer with the serial data commu-
nication. The signal mode is then stored in the EEPROM
IC1008.
The pan/tilt motor driver ICs are controlled by the micro-
computer using clock pulse and other signals. The pan
motor driver IC is mounted on the SY-314 board, and the
tilt motor driver IC on the DR-526 board. The tilting
position and panning position of the camera head are
detected by the three photo-interrupters respectively, and
then input into the microcomputer. The photo-interrupters
for the pan motor are mounted on the CC-91 board, and
those for the tilt motor on the SE-758 board.
The infrared remote-control signal emitted from the right
and left sides on the front panel of BRC-300/300P is
received by the SIRCS remote-control receivers IC1006
and IC1007. The signal from the rear side is received by
the SIRCS remote-control receiver IC2201 on the SW-
1204 board. These signals are then input into the micro-
computer.
BRC-300/300P
BRU-300/300P
The menu displaying character generator IC1013 is
controlled by the microcomputer. Character data is super-
imposed with video data by the digital encoder on the CC-
91 board, and then displayed on the monitor. The character
data is also sent to BRBK-303, and superimposed with the
BRU-300/300P video output signal.
EEPROM IC1008 saves data (preset position, etc.) that
must be retained even during power OFF.
Power Supply Circuit
The DC-DC converter generates DC voltages required in
BRC-300/300P from the +12 V that is input into the DC
IN jack.
The BRC-300/300P power condition during its single
operation differs from that with a combination with
BRBK-303 and BRU-300/300P.
During the single operation, the BRC-300/300P power is
immediately activated when power is supplied from the
DC IN jack. While during operation with a combination
with BRBK-303 and BRU-300/300P, the BRC-300/300P
power condition becomes ON/STANDBY in conjunction
with BRU-300/300P's power ON/OFF.
The orange LEDs D1008 and D1010 light up during
STANDBY state, and green LEDs D1007 and D1009 light
up during normal operation.
During the single operation, selection of ON or STAND-
BY is controlled by the SIRCS remote commander or the
RM-BR300.

5-1-5. CN-2547 Board

The CN-2547 board is a connector board to connect one of
the optional cards BRBK series.
Through this board, camera image data and clock pro-
cessed by the memory controller on the CC-91 board,
communication data with the microcomputer IC1019 on
the SY-314 board, and other signals are sent or received to/
from the optional card.
An interface is provided to update the microcomputer
program and the configuration data of the FPGA that is the
memory controller IC007 on the CC-91 board. Such update
is enabled with the extension board EX-947 connected to
this board.
