Managing Fiery Address Books

The E-mail Service feature allows an administrator to import a list of e-mail addresses
to the ColorPASS. This is done by sending messages to the ColorPASS in e-mail form.
The list will be added to the Fiery Address Books, designed for controlling user access
to E-mail Services and sending scan files to a particular e-mail address the user chooses
at the ColorPASS Control Panel, FieryBar Scan, and Fiery Remote Scan.
E-mail messages can only be sent from an administrator account.

The ColorPASS supports the following address books:
—a generic address book used primarily for Scan to E-mail from the ColorPASS
User
Control Panel, FieryBar Scan, and Fiery Remote Scan. This address book is used for
outgoing e-mail only.
—includes users with administrative access. Administrative access allows you
Admin
to modify the address book, get the current address book from the ColorPASS, and
cancel or get status on any print job.
—includes users who have print access. Only users whose e-mail addresses are
Print
in the print address book are authorized to submit jobs via e-mail to the ColorPASS.
Unauthorized users receive an e-mail reply that their job was not accepted by the
ColorPASS for printing.
E-mail Service also allows the administrator to overwrite the address book, append new
addresses, remove addresses, and retrieve current addresses on the ColorPASS.
When a print job is submitted via e-mail, the ColorPASS first checks the Print address
book. If the user's e-mail address does not match any entry in the Print address book,
the job will not print. Instead, the user will receive an e-mail stating that the print job
was not accepted.
The default wildcard character "@" is stored in the Print address book. This allows any
user to print to the ColorPASS until the administrator adds the first entry in the Print
address book.
