1-13 Connecting network cable to the ColorPASS

Ethernet connection

For Ethernet connections, the ColorPASS supports Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP,
4 pairs) cabling, defined as Category 5 or later for use with 100BaseT and 1000BaseT;
or as Category 3, Category 4, or Category 5 for use with 10BaseT. The cable uses an
8-pin RJ-45 connector that plugs into the RJ-45 socket on the ColorPASS.
The 100BaseT and 1000BaseT types supported by the ColorPASS are

100BaseTX and 1000BaseTX, respectively, also known as Fast Ethernet. If an Ethernet
hub is used, it must be a 100BaseTX or 1000BaseTX hub. The term "100BaseT" and
"1000BaseT" are used to refer to 100BaseTX and 1000BaseTX, respectively.

Connect the network cable to the RJ-45 connector on the back of the ColorPASS.
You must use a Category 5 or later unshielded twisted pair network cable for
100BaseT and 1000BaseT.
