Charging and Connecting the Battery

Battery electrolyte contains sulfuric acid, which is lethal if consumed and causes
severe burns.
• Do not drink electrolyte and avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing.
• Wear safety glasses and rubber gloves.
• Fill the battery where clean water is always available for flushing the skin.
1. Remove the battery cover.
2. Measure the battery voltage.
Note:
battery is charged.
3. If you measure 12.3 V or less, charge the
battery at a rate of 3 to 4 A for 4 to 8 hours.
Charging the battery produces gasses that can explode, which could result in death
or serious injury.
• Keep sparks and flames away from the battery.
• Never smoke near the battery.
4. When the battery is charged, disconnect the charger from the electrical outlet and
battery posts.
5. Install the positive cable (red)
(+) battery terminal, and secure them with T-
bolt and nut.
Note:
all the way onto the post and the cable is
positioned snug to the battery.
