Note: Many hydraulic fluids are almost colorless, making
it difficult to spot leaks. A red dye additive for the
hydraulic system oil is available in 20 ml (2/3 oz) bottles.
One bottle is sufficient for 15 to 22 L (4 to 6 US gallons)
of hydraulic fluid. Order part no. 44-2500 from your
Authorized Toro Dealer.
1. Position the traction unit on a level surface.
2. Open the hood and remove the left side screen.
3. Install the cylinder lock, shut off the engine, and
remove the key.
4. Allow the traction unit to cool completely.
5. Remove the hydraulic-tank cap and dipstick

6. Place a large drain pain (capable of holding 15 US
gallons) under the drain plug on the front of the
traction unit

7. Remove the drain plug and allow the oil to drain into
the pan

8. When finished, install and tighten the drain plug.
Note: Dispose of the used oil at a certified recycling
center.
9. Fill the hydraulic tank with approximately 45.4 L (12
US gallons) of hydraulic fluid as specified previously.
10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
11. Shut off the engine.
12. Check the hydraulic-fluid level and top it off if
necessary; refer to
(page
18).
13. Install the side screen and close the hood.
