This chapter contains information about the Nokia encryption accelerator card
for the Nokia EM5400 IP Security Platform appliance. The card provides
high-speed cryptographic processing that enhances VPN performance.

Acceleration
The Nokia EM5400 IP Security Platform provides built-in hardware-based
encryption acceleration. The accelerator card has no external connections and
requires no cables.
Perform the procedures in this section only if SecureXL is turned off. If
SecureXL is turned on, the accelerator is automatically enabled.
The accelerator card software package is part of Nokia IPSO, so the appliance
automatically detects and configures the card.
