Terminals
(1) RS-232C Cross Cable (for connecting setup/operation terminals to the CONSOLE ports of
GS4000)
When connecting setup terminals or operation terminals to the CONSOLE ports of GS4000,

(2) 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX Interface Cables (for connection to the CONSOLE (10BASE-
T/100BASE-TX) port of GS4000)
When connecting operation terminals to the CONSOLE (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) ports of
GS4000, the UTP interface cables of category 5 or higher should be used. (The UTP interface
cables of category 3 are allowable for the connection using only 10BASE-T.)
The maximum transmission distance for the connection of operation terminals with 10BASE-T
or 100BASE-TX is 100m.
Figure 3.3-1 and 3.3-2 below show the rough sketches of the cables, and Table 3.3-4 shows
the pin arrangement of the CONSOLE (10BASE-T/100BASE-TX) port of GS4000.
