APPENDIX D – LINE INPUT 115/230 VAC SWITCHING
Following instructions are only for qualified, skilled persons approved and
authorized to work with electrical equipments, as defined by local safety
standards.
ARCO can operate in two ranges of line input voltage, 90-120 VAC and 215-245 VAC.
Switching between these two ranges is provided by internal switch. Position of the internal
switch is set by factory and marked on ARCO rear panel.
In series to primary winding is connected a transformer protection fuse, located on the right side
of the transformer below the line switch. Fuse blows if applied line voltage is higher than preset
line operation voltage. Fuse specification is: 5x20 mm, T, 0.5 A 250 V
For real time clock backup ARCO uses an internal CR2032 battery. Battery is not charged, and
is connected only to the micro-controller dedicated battery pin. Battery capacity should last for
very long time and normally doesn't need to be replaced. If there is a requirement for
replacement for any reason, use only 3 V CR2032 battery. Battery is located on the left side of
the line switch, under the protective sealing.
In order to change input line voltage range and/or replace internal fuse or battery follow these
instructions:
Disconnect power cord from the ARCO, turn front panel power switch OFF.
Let equipment discharge for at least 30 min.
Remove front panel encoder knob.
Remove encoder shaft nut completely.
Release four (4) screws located at the front panel corners.
Pull front panel about 1cm to the front.
Slide front panel to bottom and left, do not disconnect any cables.
Pull top cover out to make line switch (red/black) and fuse holder (green) accessible.
Flip line switch to the desired position.
Visible line voltage marking on the switch indicates nominal line voltage.
If fuse needs replacement, pull top cover of the fuse holder upward, replace fuse in the
cover and push it back to its socket on the PCB. Use only above specified fuse.
If there is a need for battery replacement, remove protective sealing, replace battery and
reinstall sealing. If old sealing cannot be reused, use new sealing. Observe battery
polarity, according to the marking on the battery socket. Use only above specified
battery.
Return top cover back to place, make sure the conductive gaskets are inserted in the
rear panel slots for top panel conductive connection to the rear panel.
Install front panel using four (4) screws in the front panel corners.
Reinstall encoder shaft washer, nut and the knob.
On the ARCO rear panel, remove old line voltage marking and make new one.
