Storage

Preparing the Machine for
Short-Term Storage
Less than 90 Days
1.
Shut off the machine and wait for all movement
to stop before you leave the operator's position.
Allow the machine to cool before adjusting,
servicing, cleaning, or storing it.
2.
Remove grass clippings, dirt, and grime from the

external parts of the entire machine, especially
the rollers and the engine. Clean dirt and chaff
from the outside of the cylinder-head fins and
the blower housing on the engine.
Important:
mild detergent and water. Do not pressure
wash the machine. Avoid excessive use of
water, especially near the engine.
3.
Check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and screws.
Repair or replace any part that is worn or
damaged.
4.
Paint all scratched or bare metal surfaces. Paint
is available from your authorized Toro distributor.
Preparing the Machine for
Long-Term Storage
More than 90 Days
1.
Perform all the steps in
for Short-Term Storage (page
2.
Prepare fuel with stabilizer/conditioner according
to the manufacturer's instructions.
3.
Add the fuel with stabilizer/conditioner to the fuel
tank.
4.
Run the engine to distribute the conditioned fuel
through the fuel system for 5 minutes.
5.
Either shut off the engine, allow it to cool, and
drain the fuel tank, or operate the engine until
it shuts off.
6.
Start the engine and run it until it shuts off.
Repeat the procedure with the choke on until
the engine does not start again.
7.
Dispose of fuel properly. Recycle it according
to local codes.

Storing the Machine

Store the machine in a clean, dry garage or storage
area. Cover the machine to protect it and keep it
clean.
