The imagePRESS C800/C700 Series devices support firmware
downloads from the SST and a USB memory stick. When the hard
disk drive is replaced, the SST is used to format the new HDD and
load software.

the imagePRESS C800/C700 Series. Refer to the Service Manual for
complete upgrading procedures.
b) Backup / Restore RAM Data
If replacing and PCBs with FDIMMs attached or initializing RAM, the
Service Support Tool can be used to create a backup file of the RAM
data on the FDIMMs and saved to a PC. Once the PCB has been
replaced, the RAM backup file can be restored to the imagePRESS
device and factory settings restored.
