Monitoring a signal with a LED is a simple mode, where the LED follows the
signal state. More than one signal per LED can be used when applicable. See
Figure 46
for the valid priority rules. The LED illuminates always in steady state.

The classical mode to indicate incoming alarms or warnings, which the operator
has not seen since the last acknowledgement, is presented in
operation mode. Two possibilities for the operator to acknowledge:
The signal is already gone when acknowledged, the LED turns OFF (at least
for this color).
The signal is still ON, the LED stays illuminated and changes to steady state.
