Notes:
• Ensure that the thermal grease on the bottom of the heat-sink-and-fan assembly does not get in
contact with anything.
• Do not drop anything onto the microprocessor socket while it is exposed. The socket pins must
be kept as clean as possible.
• The following illustration uses heat-sink-and-fan assembly 1 as an example. If you are removing
the microprocessor retainer from heat-sink-and-fan-assembly 2, follow the same procedure.
