7. Depending on whether you are installing a storage drive in a type
storage drive bracket, do either of the following:
• For the type 1 storage drive bracket, see the relevant description in "3.5-inch storage drive in the
storage drive bay" on page 129, "2.5-inch storage drive in the storage drive bay" on page 133, or
"2.5-inch storage drive with a converter in the storage drive bay" on page 138.

• For the type storage drive bracket, do the following:
a. Take the new blind-connect assembly from the static-protective package. Insert the cables
through the routing hole at the bottom of the storage drive bay.
b. Align the four tabs on the chassis with the slots on the new blind-connect board. Then, press
down the board and slide it as shown until it snaps into position.

c. Connect the following cables. For the location of the connectors on the system board, see "Parts
on the system board" on page 38.
– Connect the cable with the S/X silkscreen of the blind-connect assembly to the mini-SAS
connector on the RAID adapter or the BCA-to-SATA cable.
– Connect the 4-pin power cable on the blind-connect assembly to the 4-pin power connector

– If necessary, connect the four SATA connectors on the BCA-to-SATA cable to the SATA 1–4
connectors on the system board.
– If necessary, connect the BCA_ID connector on the BCA-to-SATA cable to the BCA 3
