1. PTO—on
4. Move the choke control to the on position before
starting a cold engine (Figure 14).
Note: A warm or hot engine may not require
choking. After engine starts, move choke control to
Run position.

before starting a cold engine (Figure 15).

6. Turn the ignition key to Start. When the engines
starts, release the key (Figure 16).
Important: Do not engage starter for more
than 10 seconds at a time. If engine fails to
start allow 30 second cool-down period between
attempts. Failure to follow these instructions
can burn out starter motor.

7. After the engine starts, move the choke to off
(Figure 14). If the engine stalls or hesitates, move
the choke back to on for a few seconds, then move
the throttle lever to desired setting. Repeat this as
required.

Stopping the Engine

1. Push the PTO to the off position (Figure 13).
2. Move the throttle lever midway between the slow
and fast positions (Figure 15).
3. Let the engine idle for 60 seconds.
4. Turn the ignition key to the off position and remove
the key (Figure 16).
5. Close the fuel shut off valve before transporting
or storing the machine.
Important: Make sure that the fuel shut off
valve is closed before transporting or storing
the machine, as fuel leakage may occur. Set the
parking brake before transporting. Make sure
