Normal Operation (oil warm)

Checking the System Operation
1. With ignition switch in the On position, move the
leak detector switch rearward and hold. After the
one-second time delay elapses the alarm should sound.
2. Release the leak detector switch.
Checking the Leak Detector System
Operation
1. Move the ignition switch to the On position. Do not
start the engine.
2. Remove the hydraulic tank cap and strainer from the
neck of the tank.

3. Insert a clean rod or screwdriver into the tank neck and
gently push down on the switch float (Figure 26). The
alarm should sound after the one-second delay.

4. Release the float. The alarm should stop sounding.
5. Install the strainer screen and hydraulic tank cap. Move
the ignition switch to the Off position.

Setting the Reel Speed

To achieve a consistent, high quality-of-cut and a uniform
after cut appearance, it is important that the reel speed control
(located on the manifold block under seat) be correctly set.
Adjust the reel speed control as follows:
1. Select the height-of-cut at which the cutting units are
set.
2. Choose the desired ground speed best suited for
conditions.
3. Using the appropriate graph (See Figure 27) for 8, 11
or 14 blade cutting units, determine the proper reel
speed setting.
