PREPARING
TO TRANSMIT
A DOCUMENT
Resolution and contrast
If you want, you can adjust the resolution and contrast before sending a document.
RESOLUTION
The FO-130 has 3 resolution settings:
STANDARD:
Use STANDARD for ordinary documents. This setting gives you the fastest
and most economical transmission.
FINE:
Use FINE for improved reproduction,
especially with documents containing
small letters or fine drawings.
HALF TONE:
Use HALF TONE for photographs
and illustrations.
The original will be
reproduced in 16 shades of gray.
If you do not make a setting, the machine will automatically
send the document in STANDARD
(the
default setting can be changed to FINE by adjusting User Switch 1 - see "User switches" in Chapter
5).
))
Note:
l
In order to transmit with FINE resolution, the receiving far machine must also have that resolution.
If
it doesn't, your machine will automatically
step down to STANDARD.
CONTRAST
The contrast is normally set to AUTO, which means that the machine automatically
controls the
contrast, but for very light documents you can change the setting to DARK.
