PREPARING
TO TRANSMIT
A DOCUMENT
Readable length and width
The area of the document which is read (scanned) by the machine is slightly smaller than the actual
document size. Any characters or graphics outside this area
will not be transmitted.
Readable width:
210mm
Readable length:
The length of the sheet minus 4 mm from both the top and bottom edges.
Using the document carrier
The document carrier must be used for the following types of documents:
Documents which are torn.
Documents
smaller than the minimum size (see the preceding page).
Carbon-backed
documents (insert a sheet of white paper between the carbon back
of the document and the document carrier).
Documents which are easily smudged.
Use the document carrier according to the instructions
on the back.

Note:

If
the document carrier is dirty, clean it with a soji cloth moistened M'ith water. Make sure it has
dried completely before using it for transmission.
