Once the installation is complete, and to maintain the NEMA 4X integrity to the device, be sure to properly seal the
enclosure. The lid screws [items [15] in Figure 1] must be installed in the corners of a lid and torqued to 10 inch-pounds
(1.1 Newton-meters). These screws are provided in the parts bag attached to the inside of the enclosure lid.

When installation is complete, restore AC power to the installation point.
After completing these steps:
if installed with a battery, verify that the device is operating correctly (see "Verifying operation" on page 9).
if this device is initially ordered without a battery, and the battery is then ordered later, see "Installing the battery" on page 7
to install the battery after it's been received.

INSTALLING THE BATTERY

You can order the battery for installing in the device later. Contact your Honeywell smart meter support representative to order
the battery.
Use the following procedure to install a battery in this device. The numbers in the brackets indicate the components referenced
in Figure 3.

Be sure that AC power is disconnected at the installation point.

Detach the RJ-45 connectors [16] from the Ethernet surge protective device [5]. Be sure to note which is the top or the
bottom if your device has more than one connector.

Unscrew and remove the wing nut [17] from the Ethernet surge protective device. Keep the wing nut because it will be
installed again.

Slide the Ethernet surge protective device down at the same time & open the space to the battery compartment.

Install the battery into the bracket [4], making sure the battery terminals are positioned as shown in Figure 4. The battery
terminals should be at the top, facing out toward you.
