Replacing Batteries
This unit is powered by a dual power supply that consists of main
batteries and a back-up battery.
* The unit is shipped from the factory with batteries packed separately
(not installed tm the unit). Be sure to load the main batteries and then
the back-up battery into the unit before trying to use it.
e The unit's Power properties dialog shows you the current status of
both the main batteries and the back-up battery. See the Microsoft
User's Guide for details on how to access this dialog. We strongly
recommend that you occasionally check the status of the batteries to
avoid sudden power outages.
Important A
e The following messages appear on the unit display whenever battery
|
power drops below a certain level. Replace the applicable batteries
with new ones as soon as possible after these messages appear.
Main Batteries
"Prevent possible data loss by promptly replacing your main
batteries according to your hardware manufacturer's instructions."
Back-up
Battery
"Prevent possible data loss by promptly replacing your backup
|
battery according to your hardware manufacturer's instructions."
e Data stored in memory can be lost if you continue to use the unit after
i
the low battery message appears or if you incorrectly load batteries.
Be sure to always back up important data by storing it on computer
disk or some other storage medium. See the Microsoft User's Guide
for details on backing up data.
e Never remove the main batteries and back-up battery from the unit at
the same time. Doing so causes all data stored in memory to be
deleted.
|
e Should the main batteries and the back-up battery both require
replacement, be sure to always replace the main batteries first.
