The following procedure deletes all data in memory.
* Do not reload data backed up on a computer after performing the
procedure shown below. Data backed up while the unit's system is
unstable can contain unstable elements. Reloading such data into the
unit can cause the system to become unstable again.
See the Microsoft User's Guide for details about synchronization.
.Remove both the main batteries and the back-up battery from the
unit.
2. Wait for about five minutes.
3. Replace the main batteries.
e Be sure to load the main batteries first. The unit will not operate
correctly if you load the back-up battery before the main batteries.
5. After about five seconds, turn on the unit.
* The following two screens appear on the display in succession.
e Startup screen
e Touch screen alignment screen
6. Follow the instructions that appear on the screen to make initial
settings.

7. After making initial settings, turn off unit power.
8. Load the back-up battery.
If you backed up your data onto a computer hard disk before
after normal operation resumes. See the Microsoft User's Guide for
details about restoring backed up data.
