1. Disconnect power to the machine.
2. To remove the belts between the wash
and spin motors, the bolts securing the
spin motor must be loosened first. (Ex-
ception: MFS50 models require that the
wash motor bolts be loosened first). The
main drive belts can be removed after
loosening the bolts securing the extract
motor.
3. Replace belts in sets. After the belts have
been replaced, check the alignment of the
belt pulleys before tensioning belts and
re-tightening motor mounting fasteners.
Alignment of Belt
Pulleys:
Proper alignment of
pulleys is critical for
reasonable operat-
ing life of V-belts.
Use a straightedge
and check to see if
the straightedge
touches evenly at
points A, B, C, and D.
See Figure 2-24.

SUSPENSION ASS EM Bl Y
The supension assembly consists of shock
absorbers and springs. They are used in
conjuction with each other to control the
vibration incurred during the cycle

Shock Absorbers
Shock absorbers are positioned in the cor-
ners. The number of shock absorber can
vary depending on the MFS model. Some
models have two in each corner while others
only have one. The purpose of the shock
absorber is to dampen or absorb the vibra-
tion that is generated from normal operation.
Springs
There are four springs. These are used in
conjunction with the shock absorbers to
suspend the shell and basket assembly in the
cabinet. The shock absorbers reduce vibra-
tion movements that may occur during a
normal washing cycle.
Adjustment of the spring nut:
If the outer shell and basket unit is not level
in the horizontal position or if the spring
assembly has been replaced, it will be neces-
sary to adjust the spring tension. Adjustment
is performed by turning the nuts by the same
number of threads (always at the same time)
on the opposite guiding bars of the spring
nut. Correct adjustment is performed only if
the same gap of 55 mm (approximately 2-3/16
inches) between the edge of the support
plate and the top area of frame is reached on
all four corners of the machine.
See Figure 2-25.
