Caution!
Disconnect the Protect B from the power supply before performing the
following activity.
In the event of significant dust accumulation, the device should be care-
fully blown with dry compressed air to facilitate better heat exchange.
Time intervals between the visual inspections to be carried out mainly
depend on the installation conditions at the site.

10.2.2 BATTERY INSPECTION

Regular capacity tests can be carried out to assess the ongoing aging
condition of the battery system. Perform comparison measurements for
the achievable autonomy time every 6 months by simulating a power
failure, for example. During these measurements, the load should al-
ways show approximately the same power requirements. In the event of
drastic reductions in the time compared to the previous measurement,
please contact our hotline (see page 52).

10.2.3 AIR INLETS/OUTLETS / FAN INSPECTION

The air inlets/outlets and the fans (B.1000, 1500) must be regularly
inspected for dust accumulation and any noticeably atypical noise
generation. Clear any blocked air intakes and contact our hotline in the
event of unusually loud or noisy running (see page 52).

10.3 REPLACING THE BATTERY

Caution!
Batteries can cause electric shocks and may be very dangerous if
handled incorrectly.
The following precautions should be taken before replacing the batteries.
Remove rings, wristwatches, and other metallic objects.
Contact your specialist dealer immediately if the battery replace-
ment kit is damaged in any way or shows any signs of leakage.
