Risk of electric shock!
The components inside the UPS remain connected to the battery and
can therefore cause electric shocks even when the device is isolated
from the mains voltage. You must therefore also disconnect the battery
circuit before carrying out any maintenance or repair work.
Battery replacement and maintenance work must be carried out by –
or at least supervised by – specialist personnel who are familiar with
batteries and the necessary precautions.
Keep unauthorized persons away from batteries.
When replacing the batteries, observe the following: Only use identical,
maintenance-free, sealed lead batteries with the same characteristics as
the original batteries.
Risk of explosion!
Do not throw batteries into open fire.
Do not open or damage batteries (leaked electrolyte is harmful to skin
and eyes and can be poisonous.)
Batteries can cause electric shocks and powerful short-circuit currents.
You must therefore take the following precautions when working with
batteries:
Remove watches, rings, and other metallic objects.
Only use tools with insulated handles.
Do not switch loads on and off via the main UPS switch. Do not use
switch strips with a central on/off switch to prevent start-up peaks.
Switch the UPS "OFF" if you do not intend to use it for an extended
period of time. If the power in your building is completely switched off
in the evenings, the Protect B must be switched off every evening to
prevent the battery from discharging. The battery should be prevented
from completely discharging repeatedly in order to ensure maximum
service life.
For your own safety, never switch on the UPS without first grounding the
housing and connecting the UPS to the mains correctly.
