8. INTERFACES AND COMMUNICATION

8.1

COMPUTER INTERFACE (USB)

The USB port allows you to control the UPS and provides a convenient
format for reading out status messages and measured values. The
interface protocol is designed to operate with the "CompuWatch"
shutdown and UPS management software from AEG. Use the USB
communication cable included in the scope of delivery to connect your
UPS to the PC.
Using the HID power device protocol does not always necessarily
require any additional software to be installed. Intelligent loads, such as
NAS (network-attached storage) systems, detect that a UPS is
connected and are able to communicate with it.
