THE RUNNING GEAR

Open the gear box cover on the left side of the machine, select the correct gear according to the desired
feed rate or pitch size, and install the appropriate gear into the gearbox and connect it to the leadscrew.
Automatic feeding is enabled or disabled by the clutch (1) on the main panel. Turn the clutch left for
manual feeding, and right for automatic.

THE TAILSTOCK

The tailstock casting may be moved along the bed to any desired position and is secured in place by two
screws at the front of the tailstock. Release the wedge of the tailstock to remove and adjust the tailstock
casting. The tailstock spindle carries an internal #1 Morse taper for use with the center provided.

THE SADDLE AND THE CROSS-SLIDE

The saddle carries the cross-slide, which holds the tool rest. The tool rest allows intricate and delicate
operations to be performed. When the clutch is turned to the right, the leadscrew will automatically feed
the cross-slide.
When using the mill/drill, the cross-slide functions as a worktable and a workpiece can be mounted using
a bolt, nut, and hold-down plate.

THE MILL/DRILL HEAD

To use the Model G0937 as a mill or drill, first confirm the mill/drill chuck is securely installed on the mill/
drill arbor/spindle (Morse #1). Once the chuck is installed, it is very difficult to separate the assembly. We
recommend obtaining a new arbor if you would like to use a different chuck.
If chuck is not secure on the arbor, clean the mating surfaces of both and retract chuck jaws. Place chuck
over arbor and tap chuck with medium force using a wood block to secure. If chuck can be separated
from arbor by hand, repeat until it cannot.
Once the chuck is installed, connect the machine to power, turn the power supply switch to the 'Drill/Mill'
position on the main panel. Push the clutch lever (14) in, then turn the fine-feeding handwheel (15) to
fine-feed, or pull the clutch lever (14) out for normal feeding.

THE MOTOR

This machine has two DC motors, one for cutting and one for milling and drilling.
