5.5 Checking Motor Rotation

Note: Risk of damage to pumps/compressors caused by motor running in wrong direction.
Before running the adjustable frequency drive, check the motor rotation. The motor
runs briefly at 5 Hz or the minimum frequency set in 4-12 Motor Speed Low Limit
[Hz].

The following text appears: Note! Motor may run in wrong direction.

Note: To change the direction of rotation, remove power to the adjustable frequency drive
and wait for power to discharge. Reverse the connection of any two of the three motor
wires on the motor or adjustable frequency drive side of the connection.

Run this procedure on a cold motor for best results.
Press [Main Menu] to access parameters.
Scroll to parameter group 1-** Load and Motor and press [OK].
Scroll to parameter group 1-2* Motor Data and press [OK].
Scroll to 1-29 Automatic Motor Adaptation (AMA) and press [OK].
Select [1] Enable complete AMA and press [OK].
Follow the on-screen instructions.
The test runs automatically and indicate when it is complete.
Press [Main Menu].
Scroll to 1-28 Motor Rotation Check and press [OK].
Scroll to [1] Enable.
Press [OK].
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Press [Hand On] to provide a local start command to the adjustable fre-
quency drive.
Accelerate the adjustable frequency drive by pressing [] to full speed.
Moving the cursor left of the decimal point provides quicker input
changes.
Note any acceleration problems.
Press [Off]. Note any deceleration problems.
