Lubrication

Your lathe has numerous moving metal-to-metal
contacts that require proper lubrication to help
ensure efficient and long-lasting operation.
Other than the lubrication points covered in this
section, all other bearings are internally lubricated
and sealed at the factory. Simply leave them
alone unless they need to be replaced.
Before adding lubricant, clean away any debris
and grime from the lubrication point to avoid con-
taminating the lubricant and increasing wear of
the moving parts.
DISCONNECT THE LATHE FROM POWER
BEFORE PERFORMING LUBRICATION!

Wipe clean and lubricate the ball oilers shown in
Figures 74–78. To insert the oil, depress the ball
with the tip of an oil can and squirt once.

Follow reasonable lubrication practices as
outlined in this manual for your lathe.
Failure to do so could lead to premature
failure of your lathe and will void the war-
ranty.
