Chapter 3 - ControlNet PCIC Card Installation
The PCIC card uses CMOS technology,
which is highly sensitive to electrostatic
discharge (ESD). ESD may be present
whenever you are handling the card. Handling
a card without any ESD protection can cause
internal circuit damage that may not be
apparent during installation or initial use.
Follow these guidelines when you handle a
card:
Touch a grounded object to discharge
l
static potential,
Wear an approved wrist-strap grounding
l
device,
Do not touch the connector pins,
l
Do not touch circuit components on the
l
card,
If available, use a static safe workstation,
l
When not in use, keep the card in its static
l
shield box or bag.
