Upon completion, the modem router reboots.
WARNING:
Do not interrupt the reboot process.

Erase

Under some circumstances (for example, if you move the modem router to a different
network or if you have forgotten the password), you might want to erase the configuration
and restore the factory default settings.
Either you can use the Restore Factory Settings button on the back of the modem router (see
Factory Settings
on page 128), or you can click the Erase button in this screen.
Erase sets the user name to admin, the password to password, and the LAN IP address to
192.168.1.1, and enables the modem router's DHCP.

Set Password

This feature allows you to change the default password that is used to log in to the modem
router with the user name admin.
This procedure is not the same as changing the password for wireless access. The label on
the bottom of your modem router shows your unique wireless network name (SSID) and
password for wireless access (see
To set the password for the user name admin:
1.
Launch a web browser from a computer or WiFi device that is connected to the network.
2.
Enter http://www.routerlogin.net.
A login window opens.
3.
Enter the modem router user name and password.
The user name is admin. The default password is password. The user name and
password are case-sensitive.
The BASIC Home page displays.
4.
Select ADVANCED > Administration > Set Password.
The Set Password page displays.
5.
Type the old password, and type the new password twice in the fields on this screen.
6.
If you want to be able to recover the password, select the Enable Password Recovery
check box.
7.
Click the Apply button.
Your settings are saved.
