Removing SCSI devices

If the server is in operation, shut it down. Then remove the access panel. For
detailed instructions, read steps 1 through 5 in
CAUTION: Removing a SCSI device while the power is on may damage the server
and the SCSI device.

Depress the rail latches located on both sides of the SCSI device, then partially slide
the SCSI device out of the device bay slot.

Disconnect the power and signal cables.

Remove the SCSI device from the device bay.

Remove the rails from the SCSI device and attach them to the device bay spacer.

Position the device bay spacer in the vacant device bay slot and slide it back until the
rail latches click, indicating that the spacer is locked into position.

Reinstall the access panel, reconnect all signal and power cables, then turn on the
server. For instructions, read steps 7 through 10 in
