The A A l l i i g g n n B B e e a a m m tab is found behind the Menu button.
A beam alignment is performed during the Automatic Beam Calibration.
LayerQam takes images of each build layer, which makes it possible to validate
each layer for build defects. C C a a m m e e r r a a P P a a t t t t e e r r n n C C a a l l i i b b r r a a t t i i o o n n is used for translation of
a pixel in a layer photo to a metric coordinate in the build file. This knowledge is
used when performing defect detection to know where the parts are located in the
layer images. The smallest defect that can be seen is 1 1 0 0 0 0 µ µ m m .

• Do not perform a beam alignment manually during the build preparation.
• If the indicator lamp for B B e e a a m m A A l l i i g g n n e e d d is not green, perform an A A u u t t o o m m a a t t i i c c B B e e a a m m

• A manual beam alignment, performed when the indicator lamp for B B e e a a m m A A l l i i g g n n e e d d is green, will
override the automatic beam alignment.
The Align Beam Setup Status (right side panel) gives an overview of the setup
progress. When all the three indicators are green, everything on the A A l l i i g g n n B B e e a a m m
page, necessary for a new build, has been completed.
N N o o t t e e
Green indicators indicate that all the necessary steps have been completed. However, it does
not guarantee that the parameters and the build itself are correct.
