username and password. All users that are in the Domain Admins group for the domain in which the appliance
is a member server automatically have domain administrator rights.
If the administrator is using Internet Explorer but the URL used to access the appliance is not within the local
intranet, then the administrator will be prompted for domain account information. In this case, the security
prompt given to the administrator will have three fields and the information entered here will be encrypted
before being passed to the appliance (the screen shown is for Microsoft Windows NT 4.x; this screen might
vary depending on your operating system):

Basic Authentication

If an administrator uses a browser other than Internet Explorer, SSO will not be supported; the browser will
communicate with the appliance through Basic security and all security information will be passed to the
appliance in cleartext. The administrator will be prompted with a Basic security password prompt having two
fields and can then either choose to use a local administrator account username and password, or specify a
domain username and password where the username includes the domain name (for example,
domainname\username). In the latter case, a user with a domain administrator account on the appliance can
access the web interface through a Basic security prompt without having a local administrator account.
(However, this username and password are passed in cleartext.) (The screen shown is for Microsoft Windows
NT 4.x; this screen might vary depending on your operating system.)
