For each pinch valve, attach stream tubes to be added and open the valve via the Analyzer diagnostics
screen to facilitate tubing removal. To display the diagnostics screen, select Maintenance
Diagnostics

For each valve except V6-R, V2-SH, and V3-SH, press the corresponding button on the Diagnostics
screen to toggle the valve open.

The default state for valve V6-R is open, so you do not need to toggle this valve

To toggle the V2-SH and V3-SH valves open (as the default state for these valves is closed), do one of the
following:
• Using the Analyzer's Diagnostic screen — Make sure both ends of each tube is connected prior to
flushing. Select Maintenance
AND flush the reagents.)
• Open the valves manually — Power OFF the instrument. Manually, move each pinch valve open.

At each pinch valve, pull the sample tubing out of the valve and then disconnect the tubing from the
barb at both ends. Figure 54 identifies the pinch valves and their locations.
7.
Connect each new piece of tubing to the barbs. Be sure to seat the tubing behind the pin on the pinch
valve.
8.
After connecting each piece of tubing, toggle the valve closed again via the menu screen. press the
Back button after replacing the last piece of tubing.
9.
Perform other maintenance tasks, or close the Analyzer door and return the Analyzer to normal
operation.
10. Before resuming analysis, enter the installation date for the new sample tubing. See "Entering
Consumables Installation Information" on page 168.
