Chapter 6: Analyzer Operation

Press the Range button to display the range buttons. Press a button for the specified range (such as Up
To 1,000) or press Auto to have the Analyzer use the Auto Range function. (For more information on the
Auto Range function, see "Auto Range" on page 128.)
5.
Press the Measure button to specify which value to measure: IC, NPOC, TOC, or TC.
6.
Press the Advanced Setup button to display the following options:
• Blank Correction button — Set the blank correction feature to On or Off.
• Sparge button — Change the default sparging time (in minutes), when measuring in NPOC mode.
• Outlier Setup button — Set up this feature to ignore any value above a set outlier threshold for one
to three consecutive measurements. (The value is NOT stored in the in the instrument nor viewable
on the data screen.) Configure this outlier rejection feature (for use when operating in NPOC mode)
by setting the following:
• Outlier Rejection button — Enable or disable the Outlier feature. The default value is Disabled. If
you switch modes (to IC, TC, or TOC) and then return to the NPOC, you will need to enable this
feature again.
• Outlier Threshold button — Set the value (ppm) that when surpassed will not be stored by the
instrument nor appear on the data screen.
• Rejected Outliers button — Set the number of consecutive outliers (1, 2, or 3) acceptable, before
the instrument stores the value and displays it on the data screen.
For additional information on this feature and its applicability, refer to "Appendix B: Acronyms and
Definitions" on page 217.

Press the Acid button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol.

Press the Oxidizer button to specify the percent of this reagent to use in the protocol (NPOC, TOC, or
TOC Mode Only).
9.
Press the Reps button to change the default setting for the number of measurements (repetitions) the
Analyzer will make for this stream.
10. Press the Flush/Blowback Setup button to configure flushes and/or the blowback operation of the
optional Filter Panel. (See Chapter 7, "Operation with the Filter Panel" for information on the blowback
operation.)
• Press the Dilution Water Flush button to rinse out salts or particulates from the reactor and its
seals.
• Press the Sample Flushes button to flush the Analyzer with the new sample. Up to 5 Sample Flushes
may be selected. Use Sample Flushes to quickly reach steady-state response when the Analyzer will
be switching from one stream to another and the two streams have very different concentrations.
• If you have a GE InnovOx Filter Panel installed (ONLY), press the Blowback Pulses button to set the
number of pulses.
• If you have a GE InnovOx Filter Panel installed (ONLY), press the Blowback Delay button to define the
number of seconds for delay between the last pulse and start of the measurement.
