Chapter 3 Removal and Replacement Procedures (RRPs)

Removal 14 COVER ASSY SIDE L (PL10.1.10)

1) Remove the Tray 1. (Removal 1)

2) Open the COVER ASSY FRONT (PL10.2.1).

Note: Cover the drum of the PHD unit to avoid exposure to light.

3) Remove the PHD Unit. (Removal 3)

Note: The FUSER part is very hot. Take added care not to get burned when performing the

service operation.

4) Remove the FUSER ASSY. (Removal 9)

5) Loosen the SCREW KNURLING, shift

the COVER ASSY ESS (PL10.1.11) to rear

6) Slowly pull the COVER ASSY ESS until

it stop, and then slide it rearward obliquely.

Note: Do not pull the COVER ASSY ESS

fast. Otherwise, the hinge may be

caught and damaged.
