Note:
Do not use a damaged filter.
2.
If you are replacing the inner filter, carefully slide

Servicing the Engine Oil
Oil Type: Detergent oil (API service class SJ or
higher)
Oil Capacity: with a filter change, 2.9 L (99 oz)
Viscosity: See the table below.
Note:
Use of synthetic oil having 5W-30 rating is
acceptable up to 4° C (40° F).
Note:
Synthetic oils will provide better starting in
extreme cold below -23° C (-10° F).
Checking the Engine-Oil Level
Service Interval: Before each use or daily
Note:
Check the oil when the engine is cold.
WARNING
Contact with hot surfaces may cause personal
injury.
Keep hands, feet, face, clothing, and other
body parts away from the muffler and other
hot surfaces.
Important:
Do not overfill the crankcase with oil
because that could damage engine. Do not run
g016165
engine with oil below the Low mark because the
engine may be damaged.
1.
Disengage the blade-control switch (PTO), move
the motion-control levers to the N
position, and set the parking brake.
