4.2
Connect the enclosure
To connect the enclosure to a host system:
1)
Connect one end of the SAS HD cable to the IOM on either ESM A or ESM B using one of the 4 available
Mini-SAS HD ports.
2)
Connect the other end of the same cable to the host into either the RAID card or SAS HBA using one of the
available ports on the adapter.
NOTE:
●
Must use 24Gb SFF-8674 cables. They are the same form factor as the 12Gb SFF-8644 cables.
However, 24Gb and 12Gb cables have different electrical characteristics.
●
Connectors on both ends of the SAS cable are universally keyed. You can connect either end of the
cable to the ESM or to the RAID card or SAS HBA.
●
To remove the SAS cable, pull the pull-tab attached to either the connection at the ESM or host system.
The cable must be removed from both sides.
