When the power is on, voltage is supplied to the VTR
section and to the camera section from a DC/DC converter.
When the battery is removed, a backup voltage only is
supplied from the lithium battery, and only the clock
operates.
IC352 includes a power controller function. It creates the
ALWAYS +5 V from the UN REG voltage. Moreover, it is
also equipped with a circuit which switches to the lithium
battery for backup when the main battery is removed. A
signal indicating that the battery has been removed
(BATTERY OFF) is generated at this time.
If the main battery and lithium battery are both not present,
the RESET signal turns ON and the main controller is reset.
6-6. CONTROL BY MONITOR REMOTE
CONTROLLER
The monitor remote controller can be connected so that the
colour LCD can be used. Because a normal infrared remote
control method is used, the REMOCON ON signal of IC351
becomes High and the infrared photo sensor unit is
operated . (Pin ® of A3581 becomes Low.)
When the monitor remote controller is connected, the input
signal WIRE IN of I C351 becomes Low and the REMOCON
ON signal is substituted by Low. The photo sensor unit then

turns OFF and the camcorder operates in accordance with
the WIRE IR signal from the monitor remote controller. (The
WIRE IR signal is the same as the remote controller signal
in 6 - 2 - 2.)
When the monitor remote controller is connected and the
MON ITOR ON switch of the monitor remote controller is
pressed, the LCD ON signal of IC351 becomes Low and
power is supplied from 03202 to the LCD of the monitor
remote control. In addition, the fact that the POWER switch
is on is input to the scan signal and monitored, so that when
the POWER switch is turned off, the power supply to the
LCD is automatically stopped (LCD ON becomes High). At
this time, i f the power for the VTR is turned back on or i f the
monitor remote controller is not reconnected, then the
monitor will not switch on.
Program editing is possible using the monitor remote
controller, but the signal from Pin @ of IC351 for controlling
the VTR during recording is sent to the monitor remote
controller for carrying out editing.
