⑤ AUX (see pin assignment at right)
A terminal block for external equipment control.
Supported wire gauges: AWG 28–22. Stripped
wire length: 9 to 10 mm.
For details of external device I/O of pins 3–6,
refer to the installation manual.
⑥ RS-422 (see pin assignment at right)
An input for remote control. Connect one end of
an RJ-45 UTP cable here and the other end to
the operation unit.
⑦ HD-SDI (BNC)
Output for HD-SDI signals. Connect to HD video
monitors or relay equipment.
⑧ SYNC (BNC)
Input for external sync signals. Synchronization
with the HD-SDI output signals is possible
⑨ VBS (BNC)
Output for SD composite signals (PAL/NTSC) for
monitor display. Connect to a video monitor.
⑩ AUDIO OUT (RCA pin jack)
Mic audio output. Connect to speakers or relay equipment.
⑪ Mic
Internal waterproof microphone.
⑫ Tally Lamp
Can be lit in red in response to communication commands.

・Wiper, Motorized ND Filter (standard equipments on XU-81W)
・Washer
An wiper and a motorized ND filter can be installed. Additionally, an external washer or less can
be connected. For further information, contact your Canon dealer or your Canon sales repre-
sentative.

The XU-81 main unit is controlled from the operation unit.The functions and operating procedures
vary depending on the operation unit that is used.
