ground wire and the CPU connections (i.e., mod jack and RS-232
cables). The suppressor must be mounted inside the cabinet and as
close to the appropriate PCB as possible.
Install the 16DSTU PCB in slot CN1.
The 16DSTU provides connection for 16
digital telephones.
The first slot must be occupied by
a 16DSTU PCB.
No programming required to
install the card, but extensions
needs to be identified by circuit
type in Program 1801 - Extension
Port Description.
With software 2.02.14 or higher,
Automatic Telephone Type Detec-
tion allows digital station ports
(on installed and programmed PCBs) to automatically detect the type
of connected device when the keyset, 2-OPX Module or Digital Door
Box is plugged in. This means you no longer have to individually set
circuit types in 1801 - Extension Circuit Type. For example, if you
plug a 34-Button Super Display into extension 300, the system auto-
matically changes the circuit type to 09 and moves the Operator Call
Key to programmable key 24.
Note: In DS2000, it is still necessary to install and configure PCBs in
9902 - Slot Assignment before Automatic Telephone Type Detection
is available.
To install the 16DSTU PCB:
1. Plug the 16DSTU PCB for extensions 300-315 into slot CN1.
2. Set the mode switch on the 16DSTU to RUN.
Determine if you need to reconfigure your system from the default
setup. (See DS2000 Default Cabinet Configurations (Using U-Slot Software,
02.nn.nn or higher)
(page 23)
If the default configuration is acceptable for you, continue with the next step,
Install the Remaining 16DSTU PCBs on page 88.
If you need to change the default configuration, continue with "Changing
System Configuration/Slot Assignment" below.
