Maintenance Checks
Before commencing monitoring on a patient, carry out the following
checks on the system:
Do not use the system for any monitoring procedure on a patient
if you identify features which demonstrate impaired functioning of the
instrument. Contact the hospital biomedical engineer or the Philips
Service Engineer.
Maintenance
Full performance checks
including safety checks.
Synchronization of the monitor
and defibrillator.
Preventive maintenance

Check for any mechanical damage
•
Check all the external leads, plug-ins and accessories
•
Check all the functions of the instrument which will be needed to
monitor the patient, and ensure that the instrument is in good
working order.
Frequency
At least every two years, after
any repairs, or as needed.
If defibrillator is used or
configured for intended use: at
least once a year, after any
repairs, or as needed.
Perform the NBP and Sidestream
CO 2 Module Performance test
blocks every year.
Perform the Preventive
Maintenance Procedure for the
M1180A #A01/A02 Wall Mount
Assembly every year.
